Sanjay Gupta is the director of the phaco training division of Anjali-Shankar Eye Care System.
He is an excellent surgeon, and an enthusiastic teacher of cataract surgery. Starting his surgical journey right from the days of crude intracapsular mode of cataract extraction using Von Grafe’s knife, he has advanced steadily to the exquisite micro phaco.
His learning curve to phaco was remarkably smooth and with very few complications.
He finds the often quoted statement : “The road to phaco is slippery with vitreous” quite ludicrous.
He now seeks to pass on his wealth of surgical skills and knowledge to earnest young surgeons around the globe.
He has done more than 20,000 cataract surgeries.
He is imparting training to phaco trainees.
